Support your body through every stage.
From preparing for pregnancy to navigating perimenopause and hormonal change, a woman's health priorities can evolve enormously.
Lisa Ma Wellness takes a positive, informed approach to the nutritional foundations that support how you feel, think, look and live through changing stages of womanhood.
Different stages call for different support.
There are times in a woman's life when we suddenly become much more aware of our bodies.
Fertility can change the way we think about nutrition. Motherhood can change our priorities. Perimenopause can bring another shift, with weight, sleep, skin, energy, mood and mental clarity suddenly becoming much more noticeable.
These transitions aren't only about managing change.
They are opportunities to become more informed, support your body more intentionally and invest in the woman you're becoming.
Understand more. Support your foundations. Build from there.
Prepare your foundations before pregnancy begins.
Thinking about having a baby can be one of the most powerful reasons to become more intentional about nutrition.
Preconception gives you an opportunity to look at your nutritional foundations before pregnancy begins, alongside established preconception advice and the guidance of your healthcare or fertility team.
At Lisa Ma Wellness, essential fatty acids are an important part of that conversation.
Rather than simply assuming your intake is enough, The Balance Program gives you personalised insight into your fatty acid profile and a nutritional starting point you can actually see.
Know your starting point. Support it with purpose.
Give your changing body more support.
Perimenopause can be a turning point in the way we think about health.
Weight and body composition may change. Skin can feel different. Sleep, energy, mood and concentration can shift.
And suddenly we're thinking not just about how we feel today, but about our strength, brain health, bones, body composition and the decades ahead.
This is a time to become more proactive, not less.
Nutrition, essential fatty acids, fibre, strength, recovery, sleep and skin support can all form part of a stronger foundation through hormonal change and beyond.
Because better wellness often starts with a better question.
I'm thinking about having a baby. When should I start thinking about my nutrition?
Before you're pregnant.
Preconception provides an opportunity to review your diet, lifestyle, medications and nutritional needs before conception. Australian guidance specifically recommends folic acid before pregnancy and iodine supplementation when planning pregnancy, subject to individual healthcare advice.
It's also a time when many women start thinking more carefully about protein, essential fats, gut health, alcohol, movement, sleep and their overall wellbeing.
At Lisa Ma Wellness, we see fertility nutrition as preparing your foundations, not promising pregnancy.
If you're undergoing fertility treatment or actively trying to conceive, your fertility specialist, GP or appropriately qualified healthcare professional should remain central to that conversation.
Why does Lisa Ma Wellness talk about omega-3 in relation to women's health?
Because omega-3 isn't relevant to just one stage of a woman's life.
EPA and DHA are important long-chain omega-3 fatty acids, while maternal DHA intake contributes to normal brain and eye development of the fetus.
But I don't believe the answer is simply "take some fish oil."
I'm more interested in:
What does your own fatty acid profile look like?
That's why The Balance Program appeals to me. Testing changes the conversation from a generic recommendation to personalised information about one aspect of your nutrition.
Omega-3 isn't a fertility treatment or a hormone treatment. It's a nutritional foundation.
Is everything I'm feeling in my 40s just perimenopause?
Not necessarily.
Perimenopause can be associated with changes in menstrual cycles and symptoms including hot flushes, sleep disturbance, mood changes and cognitive concerns, but other health conditions can produce overlapping symptoms too.
That's why I'm uncomfortable with the idea that women should simply accept feeling unwell because they're "at that age."
Nutrition and lifestyle matter. So does knowing when something deserves medical attention.
Wellness and healthcare don't need to compete.
Can supplements balance my hormones?
I would be very cautious of anyone promising that.
Perimenopause is a normal biological transition involving changing ovarian hormone production. A supplement cannot simply "reset" or "balance" that process.
What we can support are some of the foundations your changing body relies on, including quality nutrition, essential fatty acids, fibre, movement, strength, sleep and appropriate healthcare.
That's a less sensational promise.
It's also a much more useful one.
There are so many things I could work on. Where do I start?
With the thing that matters most to you right now.
Maybe you're preparing for pregnancy.
Maybe your weight has changed.
Maybe your skin doesn't feel like your skin anymore.
Maybe you're tired, foggy or simply wondering what you could be doing now for the woman you'll be in ten years.
You don't have to overhaul everything.
Understand first. Choose thoughtfully. Build from there.
That's the Lisa Ma Wellness approach.
Start with the foundation. Build from there.
The Balance Program is the foundational Lisa Ma Wellness program.
It combines personalised fatty acid testing with targeted nutritional support, giving you the opportunity to understand your starting point and take a more individual approach to your essential fatty acid balance.
Once that foundation is in place, you can build according to your needs.
